CHRISTMAS LIGHTNING

Since 25 December 1870, Christmas day has been a federal holiday in the United States. In the early days, Christmas is only celebrated by Christians which signifies the birth of their spiritual leader, Jesus Christ. However, in the present modern days, Christmas is treated as a sacred religious holiday and a worldwide cultural and commercial phenomenon. People of all nations. regardless of the religions they believe in, are celebrating this joyous occasion together.

During Christmas, people will gather to exchange gifts, attend church and have meals together with their friends and family members. Alternatively in Singapore, you can take a walk down Orchard road where you will be greeted with colorful and beautiful Christmas decoration and lightnings.

As early as mid-November, the preparation of the decorating the whole of Orchard Road will start which will usually be ready by early December. All the shopping malls and shopping center long Orchard road will also participate in the Christmas lightning and this make all the decoration to become more elaborated and extensive. According to the Singapore Tourism Board Survey, 20% of the overseas visitors that come specially to Singapore for the Christmas Light-up are repeat visitor. This shows how charming the Christmas Lightning along the streets are.
